"Ultra-Wannabe"

Films: Godzilla Vs. Megalon (1973)

Alias: Jet-Jaguar, Jet-Jagger, JetJagger, Robot Man, Red Alone

Type: Man-Made

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: At his largest, 50 meters and 25,000 metric tons.

Affiliation: Good

Summary: He's the hero that will stop the evil kaiju! Science created him for good, and that's exactly what he'll do! He's the protector of man, woman, and...hey, wait a second, this is a Godzilla film, right?

History: Jet Jaguar is the brainchild of Goro Ibuki, a brilliant scientist and terrible parent, by our standards. Unfortunately, the Seatopians got their hands on the machine first, and used him to guide Megalon to the city for destruction. But Jet managed to get out of their clutches, and went to get Godzilla over to the battlegrounds. His own efforts against the enemy monsters left a bit to be desired.

Notable Kills: None.

Final Fate: With Godzilla's assistance, Jet Jaguar was able to defeat the bad guys, and gave big G a handshake of approval before reverting to human size to carry that irritating kid to the tune of that song G-fans hear in their nightmares as a prelude to the "Godzilla's Revenge theme".

Powers/Abilities: Jet Jaguar has immense strength, and can change size on a whim, as well as communicate with Kaiju and learn for himself.

Weakness: Getting overwhelmed easily in a battle outnumbered, irritable kaiju fans.

Scariness Factor: 1-Jet Jaguar was made specifically for protecting things, his color scheme is beyond silly, he has that damned shite-eating grin perpetually plastered onto his cone-head face, and he needs Godzilla to save his ass when he's not stealing the spotlight from him. But hey, he means well, we guess.

Trivia: -Jet Jaguar is actually the end result of a contest Toho held a year earlier for children in order to ride the coattails of popular tokusatsu heroes such as Ultraman and Spectraman. And believe it or not, the original winning design looked a lot cooler, resembling a bizarre cross between a winged kaiju and a traditional tokusatsu hero. It was also known as "Red Alone", so make of that what you will.

-They say the Jet Jaguar suit was incredibly flammable, so you can imagine the confidence (read: pants-wetting fear) in the suit-wearer's heart when he was constantly being surrounded by pyrotechnics. That cringing Jet Jaguar did when surrounded by a ring of fire? That wasn't acting...

Trippy.

This was a low-note in the history of Kaiju.

The original yes-man.

Hold your laughter, please.

"What's up with this signal?!"
Sorry. Different ancient city. And is that an Easter Island Head?

Nice balancing act there, Goji.

For once, machine and kaiju get along.
